About the Artist:
I was born in the small Baltic country of Lithuania. I enjoyed drawing and painting from my earliest days. My fondest memories are of sketching the beautiful landscapes and nature that surrounded my childhood home.
Forced to flee my country during WWII, I finally arrived in the United States and was welcomed to start a new life here. I settled in Chicago and trained formally in fine art at the Art Institute of Chicago.
My work represents a personal journey - emerging from the desolation of bombed landscapes and loss, to the present day in which I celebrate the beauty and wonders of life in all forms.
